Two people are dead and another critically injured following a single-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning on Rockhill Road.
Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt said the wreck occurred around 1 a.m. and identified the two deceased victims as 39-year-old Ismael Latham of Aztec Drive in Starkville and 56-year-old Karl Baker of Carver Drive.
Hunt said Latham was pronounced dead at the scene and Baker was transported to OCH Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:58 a.m. Sunday morning.
He confirmed that both men killed were not wearing seat belts and autopsies have been ordered.
Starkville Police Department Sgt. Brandon Lovelady said the white SUV appears to have left the roadway, striking one or more trees.
In addition to the two men killed as a result of the wreck, a third person was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and was last reported to be in critical condition.
It is unknown at this time who was driving the vehicle and the cause of the wreck has not yet been released.
