Starkville Academy softball

Arden Parker takes her turn at the plate for Starkville Academy’s softball team.

It’s been tough sledding for the Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers softball team this year with injuries knocking out two players for the season and one just returned at the tail end of the year.

Along with that is the fact that the Lady Vols are extremely young overall and several players are new to the game. It made Monday afternoon really tough against a Winston Academy team that is young but extremely talented.

The Lady Patriots pounded out 15 hits in three innings against Arlee Oswalt and their four eighth graders in the lineup and two freshmen helped them roll past the Lady Vols 19-0 with a run rule.
