Starkville Academy football

Starkville Academy head football coach Chase Nicholson, left, observes the first day of practice last year.

It’s going to feel more like football for the Starkville Academy Volunteers Monday.

That’s because the Starkville Academy football team gets on the field for the first time today with two-a-day practices in preparation for the season ahead.

The Vols will wear helmets only during the first three days of workouts and even though they will go twice a day, coach Chase Nicholson doesn’t want to overdo things.
