Starkville pitcher Henry Fyke prepares to throw against a Eupora batter on Saturday.

There wasn’t much room for improvement for the Starkville 12-under All-Stars after the first day of the Grand Slam Tournament at McKee Park, but they somehow found a way to do it.

After blowing past Winona and Mathiston in pool play to earn the No. 1 seed heading into the bracket, Starkville was dominant yet again. It followed up two three-inning, run-rule wins on Friday by beating Eupora 12-0 in three frames to move to championship Sunday.
