There seems to be a bright future for the city of Starkville in the sport of baseball.
If the success during this summer's Dizzy Dean postseason is any indication, Starkville could be set for some good times ahead on the diamond.
Starkville already owned a pair of state championships in 8-year-olds and 9-year-olds going into Tuesday, while the 11-year-olds were runner-up to Clarksdale. On Tuesday night, the 10 and 12-year-olds lost in state tournaments, but they had already locked up South State titles in the last few days. The 10-year-olds swept competition and the 12-year-olds dominated the field in Columbus.
