Mississippi State women's basketball

It was just a year ago when Mississippi State women’s basketball coach Vic Schaefer was having to replace a big chunk of his team with the nation’s No. 6 signing class.

That group is already making an impact on this season’s team and are  bound to impact the roster for year’s to come. This year wasn’t quite as a haul for the Bulldogs in terms of numbers, but Schaefer once again filled the needs that he had going in by signing two players ranked inside the top 100 by ESPNW.

The reigning Tennessee Player of the Year was the headliner of the two-player signing class as East Hamilton High School guard  Madison Hayes landed with the Bulldogs. Hayes was joined by Pearland (Texas) High School forward DeYona Gaston. Hayes came in as the nation’s No. 29 player overall and Gaston was ranked 95th by ESPNW.
