Things look much different at Horn Lake than they did last season.
The Eagles were flying high with the state’s top team. They finished 15-0 during the year with a state championship and the challenges were few and far between.
Starkville’s Yellow Jackets fell victim to Horn Lake on the road in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs where it lost 35-14 and head coach Chris Jones felt it was justifiable that the Eagles won a state title with the talent they had on the field.
They were led by five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean who is starring on Georgia’s defense this season as a freshman. On offense, it was all about quarterback Raydarius Jones, who signed with LSU and is a cornerback for the Tigers.
