Luke Altmyer remembers the third week of the season better than most and it was important in the makeup of the rest of his season and his career moving forward that he does.
The Starkville Yellow Jackets had started the year 1-2 after losing to West Point in a game that had seen the Green Wave score 41-straight points before SHS made a comeback to give itself a chance. That comeback came without Altmyer on the field as he finished the game in the third quarter going 14-of-22 with 182 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. After the interception, he was replaced by NyJal Johnson, who helped lead the team back with three-straight touchdowns.
