Tommy Stevens might be new to Mississippi State, but the graduate transfer quarterback is already familiar with longstanding traditions at the school.
Stevens is getting ready to suit up and play in front of the home crowd for the first time in this Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. game against Southern Mississippi.
Among the masses inside Davis Wade this weekend will be Stevens’ mother, Misty, who’ll be one of thousands clinging to and ringing a cowbell. In line with unwritten rules, Mama Stevens didn’t acquire her own cowbell either.
“I heard you’re not allowed to buy your own, so I got my mom one for Mother’s Day so she’ll be here with hers,” Stevens said.
