Mississippi State baseball

Rowdey Jordan swings the bat for Mississippi State at the Starkville Super Regional.

Over 20 years ago, he was born William Kevin Jordan in Auburn, Alabama. The name given to him nor the town he grew comfort in would be his destiny. All of that fell into place in a much different, more fulfilling way.

William Kevin Jordan became Rowdey and the young dreams of playing ball at his favorite school of Auburn University took on a different turn as his name.

It was the summer of 2015 and Mississippi State was just coming off a demoralizing season as the worst team in the Southeastern Conference. Head coach John Cohen was looking for players that would help rebuild what was a national championship caliber team just two years prior. One of those young players he was eyeing was a sophomore in Auburn.
