Mississippi State football

Mississippi State running back Kylin Hill (8) uses the block of teammate Darryl Williams (73) to break into the clear.

Mississippi State running back Kylin Hill has run all over defenses this season and as a result, Tuesday, Hill might run right into some hardware.

Hill is one of the candidates for the C Spire Conerly Trophy, which will be presented Tuesday night at the Country Club of Jackson. The award honors the best college football player in the state of Mississippi.

Hill is one 10 finalists for the award. The others include Ole Miss quarterback John Rhys Plumlee, Southern Miss quarterback Jack Abraham, Alcorn State quarterback Felix Harper, Delta State defensive back Junior Faulk, Jackson State linebacker Keonte Hampton, Mississippi College quarterback Detric Hawthorn, Belhaven quarterback Hunter McEachern, Mississippi Valley State defensive back Tracy Thompkins and Millsaps junior defensive end Liam Vincifora.

For additional notes on the Bulldogs, see Tuesday's Starkville Daily News.
