A nightmare of a first inning could have folded most teams this season, but Mississippi State has seen bad midweek starts this year and overcome them along the way.
MSU fell behind 7-0 before it even got to bat against Memphis and head coach Chris Lemonis got his team together in the dugout. The No. 5 Bulldogs were going to have to battle, and it’s exactly what they did.
A little bit at a time, MSU got back into the game, eventually got it tied at 7-7, took an 8-7 lead, lost it, but ended up winning a 10-9 decision at Dudy Noble Field.
