A league of their own was created for players who didn’t have the opportunity to play baseball.
Now 27 youth do have that chance in a large part thanks to Nick Callahan.
Callahan is the sports coordinator at the Starkville Parks and Recreation and he created a baseball league for youth ages 13-18 who didn’t have anywhere else to play.
“We ended up with 27 kids and instead of doing a three-team league we got creative and gave each kid two uniforms,” Callahan said.
