It was midway through the first half, Horn Lake had started the game with a 13-play drive and possessed the football most of the way and they just forced a safety.
Then the Starkville Yellow Jackets woke up.
Following that safety, the Eagles’ offense was grounded and the Jacket passing game began to flourish on the way to a blowout 35-2 win over the defending Class 6A State champions in the first round of the playoffs.
For head coach Chris Jones, it was easy to see what, or who, sparked the team to the win.
