Hard work is what landed D.J. Scales a spot on the Starkville High School baseball team.
Hard work is what led to playing time for Scales with the Yellow Jackets.
It’s that same hard work that has now earned Scales an opportunity with Blue Mountain College. He signed to continue his career with the Toppers on Friday afternoon at the SHS school library.
“He was such a great story of what I tell our kids all the time about if you work hard and do the right things day in and day out, you are going to get an opportunities and you’ve got to be ready to take advantage of those opportunities,” Starkville head baseball coach Luke Adkins said. “D.J. did that and he couldn’t be more deserving.”
