Mary Beth Woodward has two more events to run in high school before placing all of her attention on participating for the Mississippi State Bulldogs in college.

Starkville High School track and field

These are the Starkville High School track and field athletes that have qualified for the Class 6A State championship meet in Pearl.

Woodard will run the 1600 and 3200 meters for Starkville High School in the Class 6A State track and field meet in Pearl Saturday.

“I’m excited to have a chance and opportunity to be able to coach an athlete like Mary Beth,” SHS girls track coach Tony Minor said. “She’s one of the top athletes in the mile and two-mile in the state. I can’t wait to get the chance to see her run this weekend against top competition.”

Along with Woodard, fellow distance runner Eli Cappleman qualified in the boys 1600-meter run. The 4x100 boys relay team of P.J. Tate, Myles Stone, Amaryion Howard, Xasavier Blanchard and alternate Rashad O’Bryant will also be making the trip to Pearl.
