MABEN – There was a sense of urgency for the East Webster seniors on Friday night that they didn’t have at this point last year.
With several key players represented in the senior night festivities before the game playing their final regular season game in Cumberland, those players wanted to make sure they got at least one more game at home next week. To do that, the Wolverines had to beat Bruce and lock up the No. 2 seed in Class 2A, Region 2.
They left no doubt.
Behind another dominating performance from the offensive line to open up holes for the running game and a shutout on the defensive side of the football, East Webster got home field for the first round of the playoffs. The Wolverines pushed Bruce around and had a running clock for most of the fourth quarter on a frigid evening in a 31-0 victory.
