Over the last two seasons, head football coach Ron Price has had to rebuild the culture at East Webster after the Wolverines lost a plethora of talent from teams that were competing for Class 2A State championships.
One of the things that Price has had to do is get his players ready for big moments and to seize those moments in a way that would put them in the best position to be successful. With two six-win seasons and playoff games on the road, his team wasn’t ready when those moments came.
This year, East Webster is there again but has been resilient most of the season. With the exception of one night against Calhoun City, the Wolverines have won every week with an 8-1 record and a 2-1 mark in Region 2. Friday night they get a chance to lock up the No. 2 spot in the region and host a first round playoff game for the first time since 2016 when they welcome Bruce for senior night.
