There really is no such thing as a must-win college basketball game in January.
If there was though, Tuesday night was perhaps such a contest for Mississippi State. On a three-game losing streak and winless in Southeastern Conference play, the Bulldogs were in dire need of a victory. It showed.
MSU dominated from the opening tip and routed Missouri 72-45 at Humphrey Coliseum. The triumph was a welcome feeling for a group that hadn’t previously experienced a win since the calendar turned to 2020.
