Mississippi State’s 2019-20 men’s basketball season tips off Tuesday night at the Humphrey Coliseum and the Bulldogs are preparing for a fast start to the campaign – quite literally.
MSU hosts Florida International at 7 p.m. to begin a new year of hoops and State is ramping up to try and keep up with the speedy Panthers, who love to play up-tempo basketball.
“They’re a very difficult team to play,” Mississippi State head coach Ben Howland said on Monday. “Last year, they were No. 1 in the country in pace. They played faster than anybody in the United States of America. They force a lot of turnovers with their style of play. It’s a very difficult team to play because of their style of play and how they want to play. They press for 40 minutes. They concentrate on putting pressure on the ball.
“They’re a very good team.”
