Mississippi State volleyball coach Julie Darty talks with Deja Robinson (13) and the rest of the team during a timeout.

Everyone from freshmen to newcomers had a hand in making the season-opening volleyball match a successful one for the Mississippi State Bulldogs Friday afternoon.

With Deja Robinson’s kill on the last point of the match, MSU finished off a 3-1 victory over the Chattanooga Mocs to open the Starkvegas Classic at the Newell-Grissom Building.

The Bulldogs are prepared to put last year’s struggles in the past and use teamwork to make this the best season possible.

“We’ve had our ups and our downs, but we talked about coming together, being one, holding each other accountable and pushing each other to be our best," Robinson said.
