When Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead was asked early this week about how desperate his Bulldogs were to get a win at Arkansas today, the MSU leader downplayed it.
He insisted MSU was simply going about its efforts in practice and doing all it could to just come out and play well.
It’s tough to blame Moorhead for presenting a calm front, but the fact of the matter is Mississippi State (3-5, 1-4) could sure use a victory today against the lowly Razorbacks (2-6, 0-5) in Saturday’s 3 p.m. affair. State has lost four in a row, and while Moorhead might be playing it cool, his players are a bit more vocal about their desire to get things going back in the right direction.
“We’re very hungry,” MSU center Darryl Williams said. “We’ve got to get a win. We need it.”
