East Webster and Calhoun City softball players greet each other after Tuesday's game.

MABEN – Heat indices were well over 100 degrees on Tuesday when East Webster and Calhoun City hit the field, but it wasn’t until the sun set behind the trees in Cumberland that the bats began to heat up.

The Lady Wolverines went on a hit parade in the fifth and sixth inning to overcome a deficit and a tight contest against the Lady Wildcats and ultimately run-rule them in six innings with a 17-7 victory. East Webster scored five runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth to do the damage.
