MSU baseball's Hancock arrested

Staff Writer

Mississippi State baseball freshman catcher Luke Hancock was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with domestic violence. He has since been indefinitely suspended from the baseball team.

According to arrest records, Hancock was arrested by the Starkville Police Department and bonded out later Sunday. The Starkville Daily News has filed an open records request with the Starkville City Clerk for further arrest details, however that request wasn’t granted as of press time Monday.

MSU did issue a statement on Hancock’s arrest.

“We are aware of the incident involving Luke Hancock,” the statement read. “He is suspended indefinitely as we continue to gather more information.”

Hancock played his prep career at Houston High School where he was an All-State performer. He signed on with Mississippi State last November after being verbally committed to the Bulldogs since 2014.
