The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors on Monday voted 4-0 to hire Shalonda Sykes as the new Oktibbeha County Justice Court clerk.
Sykes was one of four candidates interviewed for the position, along with Martesa Bishop-Flowers, Jo Helen Walker and Tawanda Weaver-Ware.
Sykes served as court clerk in the Starkville Municipal Court after the election of former clerk Tony Rook as the county's circuit clerk in 2017.
Supervisors voted 4-0 in favor of hiring Sykes, with District 1 Supervisor John Montgomery absent.
