Senior citizens in Starkville and beyond had the chance to learn more about opportunities available to them in the community at OCH Regional Medical Center’s Annual Baby Boomer and Senior Expo held at the Starkville Sportsplex Monday.

Attendees were able to receive screenings for bone density, blood pressure and kidney function, as well as visit with other organizations and firms to ask questions and get information. OCH employees were also present to answer health questions. Demonstrators included the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, the Sportsplex pickleball group, seeing-eye dogs, the Starkville Fire Department and the Mississippi Kidney Association, among others. The Overstreet Elementary School Choir also performed.

In addition to the vendors, several groups and individuals made presentations and took questions from the attendees, including Starkville Mayor Lynn Spruill, Republican state Rep. Rob Roberson, members of the Starkville Fire Department and OCH CEO James Jackson.
