At its meeting Tuesday night, the Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hire of an additional pre-K teacher and assistant at Sudduth Elementary School. The measure will bring the number of pre-K slots in the district to 80 for the 2019-2020 school year.

Currently there are 60 pre-K slots in the district's elementary schools, with two classrooms of 20 at Sudduth and one classroom of 20 at West Elementary School.
