The Starkville Oktibbeha School District (SOSD) Board of Trustees met Tuesday night, and a majority of the meeting was spent visiting the possibility of a policy on virtual learning days. While most of the items on the agenda passed relatively quickly, virtual learning days captured the attention of the Board as well as the teachers and administrators in the audience.
At the August 10 meeting, a policy was brought forward but it needed to pass through the Policy Committee first. Changes were made to the policy but not approved by the Policy Committee as Dr. Debra Prince pointed out.
The changes were set to be voted on by the trustees despite not running through the proper committee. SOSD has not had a Virtual Learning Day policy in place yet for this school year.
The newest edition of the policy amended the policy from August in a few aspects.
