The Oktibbeha County Humane Society held an “Empty the Shelters” event last week that ended over the weekend that saw some animals find new homes with loving owners.

The BISSELL Pet Foundation hosted the pet adoption event at OCHS among several other humane societies around the country from last Tuesday, August 16 to this past Saturday, August 21 in an effort that has helped more than 59,650 pets find their forever homes.

“The event included for adoption some of our most precious animals who are often overlooked in favor of smaller, younger pets; big dogs, senior dogs, and adult cats,” said OCHS Director of Development and Community Relations Martha Thomas.
