A man has been indicted for murder in the killing of Shawn Stricklin in the Longview community on April 28, 2018.
Arrest records from the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office showed that 32-year old James Dustin Nixon had been indicted by a Grand Jury on the charge of first-degree murder Wednesday.
A document from the Oktibbeha County Circuit Clerk’s Office confirmed his indictment. The indictment was filed and recorded July 2.
According to Mississippi State Law, first-degree murder carries a sentence of life in prison. The law defines first-degree murder as an action carried out to deliberately kill an individual.
