Mississippi State University announced Tuesday the university set a new record high for fundraising, breaking the previous record set in 2015.
In a press release, MSU said a total of $113.1 million was raised during its just-ended fiscal year 2019. This number jumped over $10 million from the amount raised in MSU's fiscal year 2018, which was $102.5 million.
The haul continues a six-year streak for MSU of raising over $100 million.
This year's record-setting high exceeded the previous record of $109.6 million by nearly $4 million.
Money raised by the MSU Foundation contributes to the university's fundraising campaign "Infinite Impact."
The campaign began in 2010, two years after MSU's President Mark Keenum took over the office.
Keenum's goal for the fundraising campaign is to raise $1 billion by June 2020. Currently, $965.5 million has been raised.
