As the Director of Membership Development at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, Hunter Harrington is charged with increasing and retaining membership and developing member benefits. The Greater Starkville Development Partnership is composed of four main entities: the Starkville Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Starkville Main Street Association, the Oktibbeha County Economic Development Authority, and the Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce. Harrington oversees these four entities.
During the Starkville Kiwanis Club meeting on Tuesday, Harrington took the time out of her day to talk to the club about how the Partnership helps businesses grow in Starkville, especially on her side of it.
“The Chamber of Commerce is strictly funded through our memberships, so we have almost 600 members right now, and those members pay their membership dues to be a part of the Chamber,” said Harrington. “One of the benefits of being a member is being able to celebrate your business coming to Starkville with a special ribbon cutting.”
