On Tuesday afternoon at 3:28 p.m., the Starkville Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at Renasant Bank on Lampkin Street. The suspect fled the scene but was soon in police custody.
Laquavis Collier, 31 of Starkville, fled on foot with a bag, and he was quickly apprehended by officers around the Gillespie Street and Spring Street intersection.
According to SPD’s Chief Mark Ballard, the suspect isolated an employee to carry out the event, and the Renasant employee did as their training advised for this type of situation.
