A Starkville nursing home confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on Tuesday as the pandemic has case numbers climbing throughout the area. Judy Otts, the administrator at the Carrington Nursing Center on Reed Road in Starkville, confirmed to the Starkville Daily News that one resident had tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Otts declined to comment on the number of residents or any other topics apart from the facility adhering to set regulations to protect its residents.
