Mickey Devon Aldridge

The funeral for Mickey Devon Aldridge will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Adaton Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Chip Stevens will conduct the services.  Family and friends are invited to meet in the fellowship hall of Adaton Baptist Church immediately following the graveside service.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Starkville First Baptist Church Chapel.
Mr. Aldridge, 55, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  Mickey was a lifetime resident of Oktibbeha County. He was born Sept. 13, 1955.
Mickey was a 1973 graduate of Maben High School and a graduate of Wood Junior College and Mississippi State University. He went on to receive his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at Mississippi University for Women. 
In 2005, Mickey entered the doctoral nursing program at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where he was currently a doctoral candidate with expected graduation in 2012. 
He was employed by the TelEmergency program, an affiliate of the University Mississippi Medical Center. Mickey worked throughout the state of Mississippi as a nurse practitioner and previously managed his own rural health clinic in Sturgis and Starkville.
Throughout his numerous years of nursing, Mickey touched many lives. His work ethic was commendable and he always found time to go the extra mile to help others in need.  He never met a stranger, as he was outgoing and thoroughly enjoyed life. 
He loved all kinds of outdoor sports, especially fishing and hunting.  Mickey was a long standing member of the Starkville Bass Club where he was the current president. 
The many friends he has made throughout the years will always treasure their memories of Mickey fishing the FLW and B.A.S.S. tournament trails. Mickey was a member of Adaton Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Corey Ryan Aldridge.
He is survived by his son, Bradley (Brad) Michael Aldridge of Starkville; his parents, David and Francis Aldridge of Maben; his sister, Sheila Lewis and her husband Scott of Mathiston.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation to the “Catch a Dream Foundation” or a charity of choice in Mickey’s honor.
