Halloween celebrations

Annual Halloween carnival scheduled for Thursday

The Campus Activities Board will host its annual Halloween Carnival and Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Junction on the Mississippi State campus. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to the Newell-Grissom Building. The event is open to the public. A variety of booths with fun games to play will be sponsored by various MSU student organizations. Tickets will be 25 cents each and can be used at all booths and concession areas.
One of the highlights of the carnival will be the costume contest for children as old as 11 that will be judged based on appropriate age categories.

Pumpkinpaloosa hits downtown Starkville

Blessing of the Trick-or-Treaters set for Saturday

The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will host a brief service celebrating All Hallows’ Eve, featuring Scripture readings and prayers for safety of trick-or-treaters. All are welcome to attend, preferably in their costumes, before going out trick-or-treating for Halloween. The event will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 30 at the church. For more information, contact Rev. FBC Fall Festival set for Sunday

Go on a “New York Adventure” by attending First Baptist Church’s annual Fall Festival, on Sunday, October 31, 5 to 7 p.m.  This year’s Fall Festival will have a New York theme and all of the games and food will be centered around that theme.  The Starkville community is invited.  Games and admission are free, and children can pick up a goodie bag before leaving for the night.  Food will be sold at a nominal cost.  For more information contact the church office at 323-5633 or go on-line to www.fbcstark.org.  To save time upon entering, you can download a registration form from the church’s website, fill it out at home, and bring it with your family to FBC’s Fall Festival.
