Five teens arrested for auto burglary

Deputies with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department arrested five teenagers on Monday in connection with several auto burglaries in the county.

The OCSD said in a press release deputies arrested 18-year-old Furtona Ballard, of Sledge; 18-year-old Kizziah Carter, of Tunica; 18-year-old Isaiah Elam, of McCall Creek; 19-year-old Deshon Grice, of Tunica; and 19-year-old Splyndid Hollis, of Holly Springs, on auto burglary charges (4 counts), and conspiracy to commit burglary.

The release said the arrest occurred on Dawg Drive.

Elam is also charged with possession of a stolen firearm and giving false information to a police officer.

Ballard, Carter, and Grice have been arraigned in Oktibbeha County Justice Court and remain in the Oktibbeha County Jail with bond set at $37,500 each.

Elam has also been arraigned and remains in the Oktibbeha County Jail with bond set at $47,933.00 bond.

Hollis is free on a $37,500.00 bond.

The department says the investigation continues and more charges are possible.
