MSU's Howland has busy month

Ben Howland was hired by Mississippi State a little over a month ago and he has been hard at it since.
Howland was out of coaching the last two seasons after being fired by UCLA at the end of the of the 2012-13 season, but MSU Athletic Director Scott Stricklin scooped him up after letting Rick Ray go.

Grenada edges SHS to even 6A baseball series

Colbey Rivers of Starkville and Riev Wood of Grenada were locked into quite a pitcher's duel for four innings in their Class 6A postseason clash on Friday night.
The only run given up during that span was in the third by Wood when the Yellowjackets were able to score without the help of a base hit.

MSU steps out of conference for road softball series

The Mississippi State softball team will be stepping out of the Southeastern Conference for a road series this weekend.
That doesn't mean it is any less important for coach Vann Stuedeman and her team.
The Bulldogs would like to get as close to the 40-win mark as possible before the start of postseason play and two games this weekend at Georgia Southern are important in that quest.
