Kiwanis Club sponsors civic projects

The Starkville Kiwanis Club sponsors several civic projects every year. This year they contributed to the Girl Scouts, Make a Dream Foundation, and the county volunteer fire departments. A check for $500 was presented to assistant chief Katharyn Rosenhan, who coordinates the fire safety and education activities of the county departments. These funds will be used to purchase fire prevention, fire fafety, and fire education material for distribution to schools, church groups, and other organizations. Emphasis is being given to the young and elderly as they are the most vunerable to fire incidents.
