MSU students and faculty visted the home of Eudora Welty. The Tudor-style house on Pinehurst Street, built in 1925, is unusual for the Jackson area. Throughout her life, Welty eschewed air conditioning, finally agreeing to install a window unit in one downstairs room; exploring the Welty’s woodland garden with the clubhouse beyond; foreign language translations of Welty’s works, stored in the upstairs sleeping porch/sunroom; docents introduce the group to the tour to come.
