The La Leche League of Starkville/Columbus sponsored the Big Latch On in the upstairs reading room of Book Mart on Main Street, Starkville. Members and friends of LLL gathered together to be part of the first year the event has been held nationally in the United States. In 294 locations across the country, mothers and children celebrated breastfeeding and 4,123 women and children came together and breastfed simultaneously for the Big Latch On.
