James W. McCullar, 92, passed at his home in Starkville, on July 3, 2011. Mr. McCullar was a retired Civil Service fireman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he loved his church, he was a devout family man and was very patriotic.
Funeral service is schedule for Monday, July 4, at the Starkville Church of God at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Steve McCullar and the Rev. Hank Anderson. A full military rites and graveside service and burial will be on Wednesday, July 6 at 11 a.m. in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City, Tenn..
Mr. McCullar was survived by his wife, Laura Arick Morgan; sons, Ronald Gene McCullar and wife Jennifer of Royston, Ga., Rev. Steve McCullar and wife Jo of Lenoir City, Tenn., Mike Arick and wife Stacy of Conyers, Ga. and Bill Morgan and wife Dawn of Starkville; daughters, Judith Anne Drayer and husband Bill of Cissna Park, Ill., and Mona Morgan Castle and husband Allen of Oxford; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Mildred Rico McCullar, daughter Sharon McCullar, his mother and father, one brother and three sisters.
