Darwin Scarbrough Hunt, “MeMe”, 80, passed away on April 2, 2011, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville. “MeMe” was a self employed hair dresser, enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and knitting. She was a former member of the Mississippi Hairdressers Association and Cosmetologist Association. “MeMe” had a way of drawing young people into her life like a foster Grandmother and they became her grandchildren also.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 5 at 3 p.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery in Starkville.
Visitation will be prior to the graveside service from 1 until 3 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Cappleman will officiate.
Darwin was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Hunt.
She is survived by one son, James Wallace Hunt, Jr. and his wife, Brenda of Starkville; two daughters, Jean Smith and her husband, Robert, of West Point, and Shirley Skinner and her husband, David of Starkville; grandchildren, Dawn Baker and husband, Michael, Lori Benson and her husband, Larry, Nikki Jackson and her husband, Tony, Trey Hunt and his wife, Jamie, Beth Hughes and her husband, David, and Kyle Skinner and his wife, Kristen; great-grandchildren, Megan and Taylor Baker, Lauren and Courtney Benson, and Maril and Ellis Ann Jackson; and a great-great-grandson, Easton.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or favorite charity.
