This GMC Yukon, foreground, came to rest at the tip of a drainage culvert following a collision with the Chevrolet Impala in the background at the intersection of Poorhouse Road and South Montgomery Street around 5 p.m. Thursday. The driver of the Impala, Jameka Coffey, 24, of Starkville, along with two children from the Yukon, were transported for examination to OCH Regional Medical Center, said County Fire Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan. The Yukon, driven by Toshia Jones, 33, of Starkville was headed south on South Montgomery, and the Impala was traveling west, he said. District 5/Oktoc volunteers responded, as did Oktibbeha County sheriff’s deputies. Traffic was backed up at the intersection for several minutes while emergency responders cleared the scene. The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
