A Starkville man is in custody after he allegedly stole a vehicle recovered with help from the vehicle’s On-Star navigation system, police said.
The victim reported the 2005 champagne-colored Chevrolet Tahoe stolen in the Cotton District neighborhood around 4 p.m. Thursday and the vehicle was located while the person was filing the report near McKee Park, police said in a statement.
During the course of the investigation, Joshua Michael Moore, 20, of 308 Mangrove Palm developed as possible suspect, police said. Officers brought Moore to the Starkville Police Department Monday and based on his statements he was charged with grand larceny auto, police said.
He was in the Clay County Jail on $5,000 bond.
