The annual Sudduth Elementary Kids’ Fair is a free event for the whole family.
Geared toward children, and open to the entire community, the Kids’ Fair provides a multitude of activities that center around heath and fitness.
“The goal of Kids’ Fair is to give families of Starkville an opportunity to enjoy time together while participating in many activities that encourage the children to be active and fit,” said Dena Nobles, fair co-chariman.
A variety of stations will feature sporting events like football toss, basketball throw and putt-putt, and arts and crafts projects like bracelet making, thumbprint art and face painting.
“The kids will have tons of fun things to do,” said Kathy Snell, fair co-chariman. “Other active events are the moonwalk (inflatables), the limbo and freezedancing stations, a ring toss, musical chairs and several other activities.”
Children will also be able to stop by the loot bag station to decorate their own loot bags to make sure they collect the prizes the win. Mississippi State athletes and Bully himself will be present at the fair, as well at OCH Regional Medical Center fitness instructors, who will lead the children in some easy-to-do exercises.
“We are adding a couple of new games this year that we are very excited about. We are adding an additional inflatable bouncy house this year to hopefully shorten the line so the kids can have more time to jump,” said Boo Matthews, fair co-chairman. “As well, we are adding a very exciting obstacle course that will offer the kids a fitness opportunity, an exciting challenge and great prizes throughout.”
Healthy snacks will be offered free of charge to help promote the healthy eating, and pizza and drinks will be available for purchase.
“All of the games and activities are free, healthy, and kid-friendly, making this a great way to spend a Saturday morning with your children,” Snell said. “This also makes a great event for incoming kindergartners to the Sudduth family as many Sudduth Elementary teachers will be manning the booths, which gives parents and children a chance to get to know the teachers, as well as families already involved with Sudduth.”
This year’s fair will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Sudduth Elementary.
