The longstanding lobby and restaurant component of the former University Inn is coming down, clearing a space for a Buffalo Wild Wings franchise, a project official said.
The Dirt Company – operated by Stan and Johnathan Shurden – are clearing the site owned by Tabor Properties, said Larry Tabor, owner of Tabor Properties.
“We’re going to try to do everything locally if possible and make it community and family oriented,” Tabor said.
The franchise will be locally owned and Scott Easton will serve as operations manager and a part owner.
Project officials will use local banks as well as a local contractor and subcontractors where possible and be actively involved in supporting local athletic teams, including those at Mississippi State University, Tabor said.
Tabor Construction and Development will be the general contractor on the project.
Buffalo Wild Wings is a national restaurant operation with more than 400 franchised and more than 300 company-owned restaurants, Tabor says the business is known for its large-screen televisions and chicken wings with 20 sauces.
He says completion is scheduled for late summer.
