Thinking of adopting a cat or dog during the holidays?
Fall in love with an adult spayed or neutered animal at the Starkville Animal Shelter (operated by the Oktibbeha County Humane Society), and take that pet home for half-off the regular adoption fee.
Through the end of December, all spayed/neutered adult animals at the City of Starkville Animal Shelter are available for adoption for just $20.
All prospective pet owners must meet current adoption criteria for any pet they wish to adopt.
Animals not currently spayed or neutered can also be adopted at the regular adoption fee ($70).
The Animal Shelter is closed for the holidays, but will reopen Tuesday. The shelter is located at 510 Industrial Park Road.
Animals available for adoption can also be viewed online at http://www.petfinder.com [1], and searching for animals in the 39759 zip code.
Founded on the belief that the community has the responsibility to treat animals humanely, the Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is a member agency of the United Way of North Central Mississippi.
The mission of OCHS is to promote domestic animal welfare and the organization seeks to fulfill this mission by providing humane education; promoting animal welfare legislation; advocating and facilitating pet sterilization; and rescuing, sheltering, and promoting adoption of abandoned animals.
