SDN Staff Reports
Needy children in Starkville will have something to smile about on Christmas morning thanks to the generosity and support of the local community and Junior Auxiliary’s “Stuff the Sleigh” Project.
With the assistance of Helping Hands, a Starkville United Way agency, JA members have identified needy families in the area and are in the process of collecting and buying new toys for these families with children birth to 8 years of age.
Toys needed include board games, arts and crafts, bicycles, Barbies, toy cars & trucks, infant toys, baby dolls/ accessories, and educational toys. All donated toys should be new.
The public is encouraged to make a child’s wish come true this Christmas by dropping off a new toy in the collection boxes found at any of the following Starkville locations:
• Verizon Wireless.
• Hilton Garden Inn.
• Cadence Bank at the main branch on Main Street.
• McCool Hall – Mississippi State University campus.
• United Way Office.
Donations will be accepted until Dec. 10.
