Miss Black and Gold Pageant held last week at MSU

The Kappa Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. is very excited to host the annual Miss Black & Gold Scholarship Pageant, held on Nov. 11, in Lee Hall on the campus of Mississippi State University.
Each year the pageant offers help to deserving young ladies in funding their education and this time around they awarded over $500 in scholarship money.
With almost double the number of contestants participating in the show, and the organization hopes to continue its growth in years to come. The Miss Black and Gold Pageant is an event whose primary purpose is to highlight and foster the inextricable connection between success and etiquette amongst young women. This pageant spotlights the young women’s poise, self-confidence, communication skills, intelligence, and beauty. In all, the Miss Black and Gold Pageant encompasses true womanhood, success, and confidence. Academic Excellence and scholarship are greatly stressed in the competition and the Fraternity awards noble achievements in providing contestants scholarships to assist with the financial obligations associated with post secondary studies.
